Team 02:
Pathophysiology and therapy
of the inner ear

Head: Jean-Luc Puel, PU1

Our research program focuses on the normal and pathological functioning of the cochlea. It is based on fundamental research, such as the study of the molecular mechanisms involved in the coding of the sensory message, the biology of development, and the post traumatic regeneration of sensory epithelia. It also uses our fundamental results to develop more clinically oriented research on pathologies such as tinnitus and deafness, for which few therapeutic options are available despite of the seriousness of the health problem and the large number of patients affected.
