HISTOLOGY
Facility INM (immunocytochemistry)
Head : Chantal RIPOLL
|
 |
PRESENTATION :
The immunocytochemistry
section of the histology facility was raised to welcome
all INM users (researchers, students) as well as people
from outside INM to the limits of available space,
who wish to perform histological or immunocytochemical
investigations, on either a steady or occasional basis. |
EQUIPMENTS :
Open for all users :
- usual buffers
- fluorescent Alexa secondary antibodies
- small precision equipment (binocular magnifying glasses, balances,
incubators) |
|
|
MICROM vibratome with its cooled chamber |
|
|
The facility harbors several vibratomes, whose the
most recent is cooled, allowing to obtain 20- to 50 µm-thick
slices, and up to 100 µm, of fresh tissues. |
SAMBA station for image analysis
This analysis system is coupled to a fluorescence Zeiss
microscope on light background, to perform automatic
measures in density and cell count. |
|
Western Blot |
|
|
 |
 |
The histology facility provides users with the equipment
for Western blotting. This is also useful to check
for the specificity and affinity of the antibodies
used on tissues. |
Transmission electron microscope We
have a Zeiss 902 electron microscope.

PROJECTS :
1 – Coming soon is the acquisition of an automatic
(24h/24) digitalizing system for the optic microscopy
2 – Replacement of the electron microscope
3 – Automatic device for paraffin embedding and its
microtome
