GENERAL PRESENTATION

The Neuro-Genetics facility of INM extends over a
surface 50 m2. It includes various equipments necessary
for the genetic analysis in neuroscience. It is available
for the Montpellieran scientific community through
universities Montpellier 1 and 2, CNRS and INRA.

Four capillary sequencer
(upgradable to 16 capillaries) – 5
fluorochromes
Functions : sequencing and genotyping.
Sequencing service – 20 users; 8,000 reactions

D-HPLC (Denaturing High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
Functions : search and detection of genetic variants on the genome.
Debit : 15,000 injections / year |
Data analysis : Two computers
in network are dedicated to data analysis.
Specific software: Sequencing Analysis, Seqscape, GeneMapper (ABI) allowing to
cover the needs for sequencing and genotyping, Navigator (Transgenomics) to drive
the D-HPLC runs as well as the data processing.

We will soon acquire a station for automatic distribution
of samples of PCR or sequencing mix, in various format
(96-well, 384-well plates). |
